Maliwatch Mentorat — programme rules and charter
This page is the reference text for the commitment you accept when you join the Mentorat hub as a mentee, mentor, or both. Maliwatch may update it from time to time; substantive changes will be communicated in the hub or by email where appropriate.
Purpose and scope
Mentorat connects learners and volunteer mentors for guidance on academic work, careers, and related topics in a respectful, non-commercial environment. By participating, you agree to use the hub in good faith: accurate information in your profile, honest communication, and no misuse of access to others’ personal data.
Roles and expectations
Mentees are responsible for their own decisions and coursework integrity. Mentors volunteer time and expertise but do not replace institutional supervisors, legal counsel, or clinical duty-of-care where those apply. Mentors do not provide regulated professional services (for example legal advice or medical diagnosis) through the platform unless they are explicitly acting in an appropriate licensed context outside Maliwatch, which this hub does not guarantee.
Conduct and safety
Harassment, hate speech, spam, fraud, or attempts to bypass platform safety will lead to suspension or removal of access. Report concerns through official channels so staff can triage. Keep conversations professional. Prefer the in-hub messaging tied to mentorships for substantive discussions so there is context if moderation is needed.
Privacy and data
You may submit profile fields, messages, and project materials. Treat others’ information as confidential unless they have clearly agreed to wider sharing. Maliwatch processes this data to run the programme (matching, notifications, improvement of the service) in line with applicable privacy practices described on the main site.
Intellectual honesty
Do not present others’ work as your own. When mentors suggest resources or wording, you remain responsible for citations, ethics review, and compliance with your institution’s rules.
Changes and contact
Maliwatch may adjust these rules to reflect operational or legal needs. Continued use of Mentorat after notice of material updates constitutes acceptance of the updated charter, except where a separate consent is required by law. If you cannot meet these expectations, do not register for Mentorat access.
If anything here conflicts with a written agreement you signed with Maliwatch, the signed agreement prevails. For questions, use the site contact form or Mentorat feedback once you are logged in.
